Super Fruits - Acerola

Acerola is one of the highest sources of vitamin C, containing 1 to 3 grams per 100 grams of fruit, 100 times more than oranges, and 10 times more than guavas. This food is usually processed by juicing it and then dehydrating the juice. This juice powder contains approximately 17-19% vitamin C.

The acerola is a bright red fruit, approximately 3 inches in diameter. It is sometimes called an Acerola Cherry because the fruit resembles a cherry. The fruit is soft, juicy, and tart at maturity. It is native to West Indies, but also grows in Florida and South America.
