Alfalfa

No wonder so many animals have been fed alfalfa! It is a highly nutritious food and easy to grow. The roots grow as deep as 120 feet to access many minerals and trace elements along the way. Alfalfa contains all the known vitamins, biotin, calcium, choline, inositol, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, protein, sodium, sulfur, tryptophan, vitamin A, B complex, C, D, E, K, and U. It is also very high in chlorophyll.

Alfalfa is one of the most popular sprouts. The seed produces eight times its weight in sprouts in only 7 days. Alfalfa sprouts are high in all of the above nutrients and very active with enzymes.

In general, alfalfa alkalinizes and detoxifies the body. It is good for athletes' foot, body and breath odor, bleeding gums and infections. Because alfalfa is high in vitamin K, it is excellent for pregnant women to take to help promote blood clotting during birth.
