Borage Oil

Borage oil comes from the seed of the small, blue, star- shaped flower of the borage plant. It is the most concentrated source of Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA). This substance in turn synthesizes prostaglandins, regulating the vital processes mentioned in the section above. GLA also acts as an anti-oxidant, protecting the body from free-radicals. GLA is metabolized from Linoleic Acid, Omega 6. However many people suffer from compromised metabolism of this substance from lack of enzymes, free radical damage, alcohol, and smoking. In order to improve the amount of GLA in the body, borage oil is the best source for supplementation, it contains 20-24% GLA complex.
