Super Fruits - Papaya

Papaya is an incredible super fruit. It has a mildly sweet taste and contains many health enhancing properties. The immature, green fruit is especially beneficial and will be focused on here. High in the digestive enzyme, papain, green papaya helps to cleanse the body of accumulated, undigested protein matter. These proteins, if left unchecked, putrefy and give off toxic by-products called purines. Because of this green papaya is excellent to use while fasting and for bowel cleansing programs. It is also helpful for ulcers and morning sickness. Papaya also contains beta carotene, potassium and magnesium. Papaya contains arganine, essential for male fertility, and carpaine, an enzyme for heart health. Carpaine also has an anti-bacterial effect.
