Our Earthly Story |
| If you have ever had the privilege of living 'off the land' for any length of time, picking food from the vine or tree, and preparing your meals out in nature, you may be able to relate. You may be able to understand why we are passionate about nature at Greenfoods. Such an adventure can teach a lesson about a time when people subsisted and thrived from the foods grown naturally from the earth. A time when fertilizers were natural, and pest-resistance was creative. A time before humans decided to begin pounding the earth with chemicals. A time before humans decided that nature wasn't good enough, or fast enough. A time before humans had to take things into their own labs....... | |
| Today, by the time our food gets to our table it is grown in chemically-treated soil that destroys ground-water and erodes the soils, it is seeded with genetically-modified seeds that could permanently alter our food supply, it is sprayed with chemicals that kill insects on contact not to speak of humans, it is picked pre-ripe, sprayed with preservatives, forced-ripe with controlled-atmosphere storage, it is cleaned with chlorine, mixed with all types of chemical additives for color and taste, and then delivered to our table after over-cooking to be sure that we've removed just about every nutrient, just so that we can then fortify it with the chemicals that our scientists have determined we need. | |
| So how about the rest of our once lush valleys that teamed with foods? Are we finally 'paving' this food supply to finalize our conversion to synthetic food? Isn't nature good enough? | |
| Over the past 25 years of working in the health food industry, we have come to realize that all of us have a responsibility, here and now, to change the cycle. Our generation needs to stop the continuation of this 'progress' and reconsider the ramifications of what we are doing: we're destroying our mother earth simply because we believe that we can do a better job of duplicating nature. | Greenfoods/Sacred Earth Superfoods was born from a respect and knowledge that as much as we try to duplicate nature with our chemicals and fortified foods, a better option is living in union with the planet and eating foods that are naturally grown, fortifying our bodies with natural nutrition, and thus empowering the production of foods that provide natural nutrition. There are foods, and then there are superfoods: foods that provide natural, powerful, densely-packed nutrition. | |

| For twelve years now we have been encouraging businesses and partnerships to be content with nature's methodology of producing foods with minimal production, maintaining the highest quality and nutritional standards in an ethical manner. For this reason we promote foods that are naturally grown or wildcrafted environmentally with sensitivity, thereby aiding in attempting to replace the destructive food production of our recent generations. Over the years we have provided consumers and stores with foods and products that were produced environmentally and grown with a minimum of destruction of the planet's resources. We have worked to develop markets and education for foods that provide a healing for the planet, our food supply, and hopefully an alternative to our current trend of synthetic nutrition. | |
